  1. The black footed ferret is a living thing because ,

A.)grow and develop:The black footed ferrets leaves the nest after two months.

Gestation of black-footed ferrets lasts 42–45 days. Litter size ranges from 1–5 kits.

Females dispersed 1 to 4 miles (1–7 km) following litter breakup.

Kits first go above ground in July, at 6 weeks old.

Kits are born in May and June in prairie dog burrows.

B.)Reproduction

Mating occurs in February and March.

The reproduction of the black-footed ferret is similar to that of the European polecat.

The male sniffs the genital region of the female, but does not get on here her until after a few hours have go bye.

The male grabs the female by the nape of the neck and it lasts 3-5 hours .

The black-footed ferret is adapted to its environment its color and design blend well with grass dirt and plants that it is hard to see until it moves.

They are very well trained predators with powerful jaws.

With a bite to the back of the neck of it's prey (the prairie dog), can be twice it's size.

Up to 91% of the black-footed ferret's diet is composed of prairie dogs.

Because black tailed prairie dogs do not hibernate little change in black-footed ferret diet is a must.

Black footed ferrets drink water but open water is rare on the prairie. They get most of their hydration from their prey the prairie dog.

The black footed ferret gets air from being out side though its mouth and in to its lungs like a human.

D.)Habitats of the black-footed ferret included short grass prairie, mixed-grass prairie, desert grassland.

Black-footed ferrets use prairie dog burrows for raising young, avoiding predators, and warm cover.

Mounded burrows contain lots of entrances and probably have a deep and extensive burrow system that protects kits.
